The first taste of what we do here at Singapore Polytechnic Adventurers - The Freshmen Orientation Camp.
It is here that our juniors meet together for the first time and experience what adventure is. This is the foundation of their bonding together as a team and also where they first pick up that first taste for adventure.
In this camp the freshies got to experience, rock climbing, abseiling, orienteering games and even kayaking.
However, this was afterall a camp and there was of course the extreme fun and games!

Round Island Cycling Expedition - Singapore
A 13 hour overnight train was taken to reach Gunung Stong and that was already cool and interesting enough. At Gunung Stong, a guide packed with all sorts of information about Gunung Stong and about hiking as a whole greeted you. What was truly unforgettable was the breathtaking view of the limestone enclaves and the waterfall. Throughout the trip, one would not only have a feast for the eyes but also get to experience new things like caving and standing on atop a waterfall. These are truly experiences that one can be proud of when they share it with their friends and family.
Endau Rompin National Park is the second largest national park in Peninsular Malaysia after Taman Negara that is located at an area south of Pahang and northeast of Johor. The park houses one of the oldest tropical rainforest complexes in the world and features rock formations that are reputed to be some 248 million years old. Apart from that, the park contains the largest remaining population of the threatened Sumatran rhinoceros species on the Malay Peninsula. Gunung Besar which is the second highest in Johor is also located in the park.
The park takes it name from the Endau and Rompin rivers that flow through the park. Other rivers that flow through the parks are Segamat, Selai and Jasin.
One would access the park via the Selai Entrance which is near the Johor side and enter via 4 wheeled drive vehicles. There are 4 main waterfalls in the park which are stunning and tranquil despite the rapid development of the area. A day’s trek should be enough to cover all the 4 waterfalls and truly soak in and appreciate the various flora and fauna of the park along the way. An amazing experience for anyone, memories were made here to be cherished forever.
Pulau Hantu Besar or “ghost island” is one of the few southern islands that are open to public access. To get there, only chartered boats from the Marina Pier are available. Upon arrival, participants will be wowed by the magnificent view of the sea and sweet island breeze. The island is mainly inhabitated but boasts essential toilet and showering facilities; BBQ pits and huts are available as well to compliment the trip. Users are treated to nice tendering washes of the waves in the surrounding lagoons and can even enjoy fishing and coral viewing when the tides are low.
Ever thought of kayaking around the perimeters of the Singapore coastline? That is approximately 120km of water to manoeuvre. Ever thought of looking a the tiny dot of the world map from a different perspective and see landmarks that one has never seen before?
The trip was started from the SP Adventurers base at Poly Marina, West coast park. The first day of the journey was from Raffles Marina to Tuas. We then pitched up and carted our cargo to sembawang park for the night and headed to East Coast Park for day two, with a stopover at Changi Beach. Day three was the home run from ECP back to Poly Marina, cruising by the flyer, Sentosa and Port of Singapore.
